Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in transforming India into a leading global digital economy over the past 11 years, crediting the government’s sweeping digital initiatives for revolutionising multiple sectors.

In a post on X, Shah stated, “The Modi government democratised the use of technology and harnessed its power for the business sector, making Bharat a leading digital economy in the world in the 11 years of Digital India. Whether it is healthcare, education, trade, or commerce, PM Narendra Modi has transformed every sector of the economy and society through the digital revolution.”

Shah’s remarks come as the central government continues to promote its “Digital India” vision, which has seen rapid expansion in digital infrastructure, fintech access, and e-governance tools since 2014.

On Tuesday, Shah also thanked the Prime Minister for approving two major railway multitracking projects across Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. He said these initiatives would “turbocharge the growth journey of these states, speeding up the prosperity of businesses and individuals and creating ample employment opportunities for the youth.”

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, cleared the two projects worth ₹6,405 crore. These projects aim to enhance rail connectivity by about 318 km, reduce logistics costs, decrease oil imports, and contribute to lowering CO₂ emissions. The expanded network will benefit nearly 1,408 villages and over 28 lakh residents.

The approval underscores the government’s broader push for infrastructure development and digital integration as key drivers of economic progress.
